The European Sustainable Hospitality Club is an organization based between Paris and Barcelona, with a keen focus on ethics and sustainability, founded by Maribel Esparcia Pérez and Dan Pontarlier. 

The ESH Club is a platform promoting innovation and sustainability in European Hotels. The organization’s main aim is to improve the impact that the hospitality industry has on the environment and society. We encourage and inspire companies in the travel and hospitality industry to create long-term value while meeting the demands of the new generations, contributing to mitigate social, governance and environmental challenges as well as delivering on stakeholders' needs.  We knew that there was so much more that could be done and so much awareness to be developed and boosted that we thought we should do something. That's the reason why we created the European Sustainable Hospitality Club or ESH Club.

In order to sustain our growth, we are looking for support in our Business Development. The intern will be involved in the identification of opportunities, market research and strategy development. This can be in the context of our existing framework, or through expanding our reach.

This internship is designated to those that want to profound their knowledge in sustainable oriented business models and their development. 

You will get the opportunity to work remotely with Dan Pontarlier (digital marketing strategist, sustainability consultant and co-founder of the ESH Club based in Paris) and Maribel Esparcia Pérez (specialized agent of change and co-founder of the ESH Club based in Barcelona).

This role is designed to be broad so that you see how many different elements are needed to scale a small  business like ours. 

You will get to experience many different projects during your time with us which could include:

  • Business Development Assistance in coordination with founders. 
  • Market research & Identifying new business opportunities.
  • Scientific research support on sustainability and business ethics 
  • Development of business proposals for new and existing customers.
  • Creation of imaginative & creative strategies to retain customers including interviewing them to take their feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospects and industry trends.
  • Work with founding partners to develop strategic business development plans for selected markets.
  • Identify future potential markets for our membership services and generate opportunities.
  • Ensuring business development goals are met and aligned with the team and business growth.
